While expecting a package from Temu, one of the initial tracking statuses is “It shipped.”
When an item is shipped, you expect such a package to arrive as soon as possible.
However, we have had many incidents where the Temu tracking page showed “Shipped” but there wasn’t any other new tracking update past that.
How and why is that so? Our ultimate guide aims to clear the air about this Temu tracking update.
What Does Temu “It Shipped” Mean?
When the Temu tracking page says, “Shipped,” it means that they have picked up the package from the seller and will process it to continue its journey toward the recipient.
Suppose the item gets shipped during business weekdays before or on Thursday. In that case, Temu usually processes it fast and the tracking status usually changes to “In Transit” in a few hours or the following business day.
Why Is My Temu Package Stuck On “It Shipped” For Several Days?
Backlogged Facilities
While Temu might have picked up the package from the seller, it could be that the initial processing facilities are backed up, which is a common occurrence during peak shopping times such as around Black Fridays, Cyber Mondays, Christmas, and New Year.
See, before your package gets loaded onto a vehicle to head to the airport, it has to be inspected and sorted for compliance with your country’s airline rules.
If the processing facilities are overwhelmed with packages, it means that several days might pass before the staff inspect and process your item.
In such a scenario, the package will stay stuck under the “Item Shipped” status and only have the status change after the backlog gets cleared.
The Following Day Isn’t A Working Day
If your package shipped late on a Friday, it means that it might not be in transit the following day as it is on a weekend.
Again, if there is a public holiday on the following day, it means that there won’t be available staff to work on your package and get it to the airport.
If your parcel is coming from China, you can notice that the delays are much more frequent around the Chinese New Year as most of the staff are in their rural homes.
In all these scenarios, the tracking page won’t update as you expect it to until the staff resumes their respective roles. The problem at that point is when your item is heaped along with thousands of other packages.

Inclement Weather Conditions
Yes, your package might have been shipped, inspected, and sorted to proceed with its journey but due to bad weather conditions, make it impossible for the journey to continue.
For the safety of the packages, the weather has to be conducive before packages can get loaded onto trucks for the continuation of their journeys to the airports.
Again, when facing inclement weather conditions, it means that it’s unsafe for delivery vehicles to proceed.
From our tracking statuses, we haven’t seen Temu providing “Bad weather” scans which means the status won’t move from “It Shipped” in this case.
Bugged Tracking
In one of my Temu orders, my package ended up going from “It shipped” to “Out for delivery”.
As someone who interacts with different tracking statuses from different eCommerce sites, this clearly showed an issue to do with bugged tracking.
Some of the causes for such mishaps could be technical glitches, especially during peak shopping times.
If your tracking status doesn’t move from “Shipped” for more than 3 days and there are no weekends or holidays involved, it could be due to the tracking page not updating as expected.
The good thing at that point is that the item is still on its way to you, but we have to mention that it makes recipients anxious when they can’t get the real status of where the packages are.
Missed Scans
Yes, Temu doesn’t scan packages for every journey they make as a measure to save time. Such missed scans are also common during peak delivery times.
Due to missed scans, recipients don’t get updated as expected, which further adds to anxiety among some.
What Do I Do When Your Temu Order Doesn’t Move Past “Shipped?”
Use Free Third-party Sites To Re-track Your Item
Before panicking that your package status hasn’t changed for long, we recommend using third-party sites such as Parcelsapp and 17Track to get the right state.
See, such sites are usually integrated into the systems of most eCommerce stores, and you will get more information about your package than what the default Temu page has to offer.
Using such sites is simple as you only need to paste your tracking number on the provided option and all the scans made will display.
If such sites still show “Shipped,” then it means that your package didn’t move from the originating Temu facilities. In that case, refer to the other option we provided below.
Contact Temu
We find contacting Temu seamless as they are highly responsive based on our ratings.
Now, if the Third-party tracking sites show that your package is still “shipped” or “package information created in the system,” we recommend getting in touch with Temu and they will most likely offer you a refund if they see such a long delay.
Under most circumstances, they will also tell you to keep the package in case it ever gets to you.
