What Does Arrived In Transit Country/Region Mean?
When AliExpress says, “Arrived in transit country/region,” they mean that a package has been offloaded from a plane in another country between the country of origin (China) and the recipient’s (destination) country.
Under most circumstances, AliExpress International Packages have to go through another country (transit country) for routing toward the recipient’s country.
This is to say that since it’s hard to find a full plane heading in a single country, packages have to be offloaded and processed along with others to go to a specific country in the same plane.
Necessarily, transit regions play a crucial role in routing packages as there are direct planes in such places.
Some of the most common transit countries used for international AliExpress packages include Germany, Poland, Hungary, Singapore, and South Korea.
Hong Kong is the most common transit region used by AliExpress and from what we noticed, packages in transit in Hong Kong tend to take longer to move as there aren’t as many packages there to fill up a plane faster.

Why Is My Package Status Stuck On, “Arrived In Transit Country/Region” For Long?
There Are No Enough Packages
Depending on the transit region/country, there may be no enough [packages to fill up a package coming toward you.
For it to make economic sense, planes have to depart from the transit countries or regions when they are already full.
If the available ones aren’t enough, it will take more days at the sorting center before the packages can reach the desired capacity to continue with the journey.

Airline Shortage
Ironically, while some recipients might have their packages delayed due to a lack of sufficient packages for the journey to continue, others’ reasons for the delay could be insufficient planes versus the volume ratio.
This is especially common during the peak shopping times during the holidays when there are few planes everywhere compared to the backlog awaiting clearance.
The exact time it takes for the package status to move after airline shortage issues depends on your package’s status in the queue pile and how fast the deliveries will be made to clear the volumes.
Inclement Weather
If there is bad weather in the transit region or country, it means that it will be impossible for planes to depart.
Depending on the severity of such bad weather, it might actually take more than a week before it gets clearer and the package can move again.
Again, when battling bad weather, it means staff cannot offload packages to sort them or load them into a plane without the risk of damaging the contents.
Thankfully, the weather becomes clearer in a matter of days, making this to be not the primary reason why a package status can stay stuck on “In transit country or region” for weeks.
Holiday Season
When I first had this status showing up, it was during the Peak Christmas holiday.
Since there are many packages to be handled during the holiday season, delays are also bound to happen.
Most of the facilities are usually overwhelmed and the ratio of the packages to the available staff is disproportionate.
How Long Does A Package That Has “Arrived In Transit Country/Region” Take?
It takes between a business day to 1 month for a package that is stuck on “Arrived In Transit Country/Region” to start moving.
The exact time it takes for a package to move from this status depends on the reason why it was stuck there in the first place.
