While expecting a package from another country or state, one of the most common tracking statuses is, “Arrived at FedEx Hub.”
What could this update mean? Is there anything you could do to make it move faster? For these, and other finer details, let’s get to it right away.
What Does It Mean When Your Package “Arrived At FedEx Hub?”
When FedEx says that your package “Arrived At FedEx Hub,” it means that it is one of the FedEx facilities where it will be sorted and routed toward the recipient.
This tracking status is mostly sent for packages coming from another country or state and is common under the “On the way” general FedEx tracking update.
What Is The Difference Between “Arrived At FedEx Location” and “Arrived At FedEx Hub?”
FedEx usually uses the “Arrived At FedEx Location” tracking status for packages that are in your country or state, to indicate that a package has reached one of the facilities to be sorted and routed toward the recipient.
Such packages can end up getting delivered the following day or several days after seeing this tracking status.
Conversely, the “Arrived At FedEx Hub” tracking status is common for cross-border packages. Depending on the distance between the sender’s state or country to the recipient’s, you may see more than one “Arrived At FedEx Hub” tracking status before your package gets delivered.
Why Is My Package Stuck On, “Arrived At FedEx Hub” For Several Days?
Backlogs
After your package gets to one of the FedEx hubs, it could be that they are overwhelmed with packages.
Depending on how backed up the hub is, it might take several days before you can get any new updates on the tracking page.
We find the issue of backlogs to be too rampant in the peak shopping times such as on Black Friday or Holiday times.
Few Vehicles
Sometimes, the ratio of packages that have to depart the FedEx Hubs to the number of available vehicles is disproportionate.
In such a scenario, FedEx has to wait for when there are available vehicles to take your package to the next delivery step.
Depending on how long it takes to get another vehicle, the tracking status of your package might stay stuck on “Arrived At FedEx Hub” for several days or weeks.
Missed Scan
Sometimes, FedEx doesn’t scan packages across each journey they make mostly due to saving time.
Presumably, scanning packages is time-consuming, and when FedEx doesn’t make multiple scans, such items end up getting to the recipient relatively faster. But at what expense? Of course, at the expense of the recipient’s peace of mind.
Due to a missed scan, packages can stay stuck on “Arrived” for several days or weeks, until the final delivery happens.
The Package Was Temporarily Lost
It happens sometimes when after a package gets to one of the FedEx hubs, it gets temporarily lost, especially for smaller packages.
Such a package might end up getting lost on the conveyor machine, or simply misplaced.
By the time it gets retrieved, several days might have ended, and in that situation, your package status will still show, “Arrived At FedEx Hub.”
What Should I Do When My Package Is Stuck On “Arrived At FedEx Hub” For Long?
If it’s past the agreed delivery date with the sender, we find that contacting the sender and asking them to get in touch with FedEx for a solution is the best solution.
Since your sender has to ensure that you receive your package on time, they are supposed to file a claim with FedEx. From there, you can agree with them to send you a replacement package or a refund.
As the recipient, we don’t recommend you contact FedEx as you aren’t contracted to them. As such, they won’t help you as much. Instead, they will tell you to tell the sender to file a claim with them.
