If you regularly use Temu, then you undoubtedly know that they use OnTrac as one of their shipping partners.
Before OnTrac delivers Temu packages, they send several tracking statuses along the way. We will look into these and cover other details we find useful for you to know.
Let’s get into it right away.
5 Common Tracking Statuses When Temu Uses OnTrac And Their Meanings
What Does “Information Order Created” Mean?
When OnTrac says “Information order created” for your package, it means that Temu sent the tracking label to OnTrac, but the package hasn’t been handed over yet.
Under most circumstances, that update is sent when the item is still in China. On average, it takes 3 business days for such a package to get handed over to OnTrac.
At this point, you need to note that such packages are delivered to OnTrac at the airport, which is then expected to complete the delivery to the recipient.
Depending on the carrier flying the item from China to the US and the weather conditions or customs process, several days might pass before the status can switch from “Information order created.”
Another thing we have noticed is that after Temu has delivered a package to the airport, OnTrac doesn’t pick it up as fast as other shipping companies such as UPS, FedEx, USPS, and DHL do.
So, while your tracking status might show the information order was created, it could be that the package is already in the US, but then OnTrac hasn’t picked it up just yet.
We recommend checking with Third-party package delivery companies such as 17Track and Parcelsapp to get the right status of your Temu package.
If the package is already in the US but OnTrac doesn’t update as so, you can consider letting Temu know that their contracted partner has those delays.
What Does “Shipment Is Being Prepared” Mean On OnTrac?
When OnTrac tells you that your Temu shipment is being prepared, it means that they have picked up the package from the airport, and they are processing it for delivery to your provided address.
Under normal circumstances, such Temu packages end up getting delivered a business day later or two after this status.
However, we have had several complaints where even after packages were stuck on this update, they ended up getting delayed for more than a week.
Such delays are a leading reason why OnTrac has overall ratings of 1-star according to Trust Pilot and many other review sites.
What Does “In Transit” Mean?
When OnTrac tells you that your Temu package is in transit, it means that it’s on the way between the originating country and the recipient’s address.
Such a package can stay longer in this update as it’s a general one, and there are many other sub-statuses under it. You can refer to this blog post to get more details about when Temu says that your item is in transit.
What Does Your Temu “Package Arrived At Airport” Mean?
This tracking status indicates that your Temu item has already cleared customs in the US, and it’s sitting in the airport awaiting OnTrac to pick it up.
It’s vital to note that Temu’s flights end their journeys at the airport, and OnTrac has to pick up packages from the airports to complete the deliveries.
Ideally, the number of days it takes for your package to stay in any of the airports depends on how fast OnTrac picks it up.
What Does “Pending” Mean On OnTrac For Your Temu Order?
When OnTrac tells you “Pending,” it means that they haven’t received the package from Temu just yet, despite having the tracking details.
We have had scenarios where OnTrac said pending for several days, and upon contacting Temu, found that the package was already in the airport and OnTrac didn’t pick it up from there.
If OnTrac keeps saying “Pending” for your Temu order, it could be that the item is just sitting in the airport.
5 Common Complaints About OnTrac From Temu Customers
Non-Responsiveness
While OnTrac has a great rapport with companies they are contracted to such as Temu, it’s a different story altogether when they deal with the recipients.
If, as a recipient, you have a complaint to make to OnTrac, you would be lucky to get a response from them. Again, calling them as the recipient is mostly futile.
For this reason, we usually recommend that you contact Temu whenever your package gets delayed or it’s stuck in the same tracking status for days.
Lost Packages
Lost, missing, or stolen packages are common complaints from Temu customers when they use OnTrac as the last-mile shipping company.
To begin with, many have complained that OnTrac ended up delivering packages to the wrong addresses, as confirmed by the image evidence sent to the tracking page.
Others said that OnTrac drivers left packages in the wrong spots, which exposed the items to porch pirates, making them to be stolen.
For many others, the issue of packages getting lost in transit is common when Temu uses OnTrac. All these complaints are described on the Trust Pilot’s tracking page.
Delayed Deliveries
Depending on some of the drivers in the 31 states where OnTrac operates, some recipients ended up getting their items, later than the estimated delivery date.
From our findings, that usually happens when OnTrac picks up packages late from the airports. After picking up packages, the delivery time is only a few days afterward.
All in all, the issue of delayed deliveries is common on the OnTrac subreddit.
When your item is delayed past Temu’s estimated delivery date, Temu provides credits for your next shopping, which comes in handy for buyers who don’t shop for time-sensitive packages.
That kind gesture is somewhat relieving after OnTrac brings your delivery past the expected delivery date.
Broken Tracking
After OnTrac receives your package from Temu at the airport, you can find “403 Forbidden” on OnTrac.
It’s really inconveniencing at that point as you won’t be aware of when such a package will get to you.
Sometimes, using the Incognito Mode in your browser works, and other times it doesn’t. If that doesn’t work as well, we recommend using free Third-party sites such as Parcelsapp and 17Track to get the whereabouts of your item.
It’s inconvenient, but that’s OnTrac for you.
Can I Avoid Using OnTrac For My Temu Orders?
The primary reason why Temu is contracted to OnTrac for deliveries in the US is that OnTrac has some of the most affordable shipping options.
If you don’t want Temu to use OnTrac for your next shipment, consider telling them that you need an alternative before placing your order.
If possible, opt for the Express shipping option and Temu will use the major carriers such as UPS to deliver your item.
What Does 403 Forbidden Mean When You Track A Temu Order On OnTrac?
When OnTrac tells you “403 Forbidden” as you try to track your Temu package, it means you have insufficient permissions to access the tracking page.
Whenever we face this issue on OnTrac, we simply use a different browser, and the tracking works. You can also clear the cookies, and you will get your updated status.
Surprisingly, we don’t have any 403 Forbidden issues with the other couriers, making us wonder why we must go the extra mile to use OnTrac tracking seamlessly.
If these two solutions don’t work for you, we recommend using Third-party tracking sites such as 17Track and Parcelsapp, and you will still be able to track your Temu order from there.
