While expecting your package from AliExpress, one of the most common tracking statuses is, “Your package has been delivered to the last mile carrier.”
Now that you are here, you could wonder what that means or why your item is stuck on that status.
What Does, “Your Package Has Been Delivered To The Last Mile Carrier” Mean?
This AliExpress tracking status means that your item has been handed over to a delivery company that will complete the delivery to your provided address.
At this point, we need to mention that this status doesn’t always indicate that your package is in your country.
It’s great for you to also note that if the sender had gone for the “Economy Shipping” Option, it’s the slowest plan and you will have to be more patient before you can see your parcel.
Why Is My Package Stuck On “Your Package Has Been Delivered To The Last Mile Carrier” For Days?
Wrong Scan
While AliExpress might be saying your package has been delivered to the last mile carrier, it could be that this is a wrong scan and they still have the package.
Such wrong scans usually happen during the peak delivery times such as on 11.11, Black Friday, and Chinese Day when there are many packages to get scanned, and has to happen faster.
One of the ways to know if you received this status as a result of a wrong scan is to check the dates. For example, if they say that your package has arrived at a departure transport hub, there is no way such a package will end up showing that it has departed from customs a few minutes after.
If the tracking status shifts a few minutes from different countries to tell you that it was handed over to the last mile carrier, know that a wrong scan happened, which is why your package doesn’t move for days.
Due to wrong scans, you can see the AliExpress tracking page showing that the package was last scanned in your country which was not the case. The last-mile carrier might be in a transit country, which could be why it’s getting harder for you to track the package further.
Backlogs
Delivering a package to a last mile carrier doesn’t mean that it has left or will leave the place where it was handed over right away.
Sometimes due to backlogs, packages that have been handed over to last-mile carriers by AliExpress take several days to be worked on, which explains the key reason why the status might not change for several days.
The problem at this point is when more packages keep streaming in, and getting heaped on top of yours that was handed over to the last-mile carrier several days ago.
Depending on the volume of packages before yours gets acted upon and departs from the facility, several days might pass.
The Package Got Lost
We have had many instances of packages that were claimed to have been delivered to the last-mile carriers ending up not getting delivered at all.
One of the leading reasons explaining such a scenario is the package getting lost when it was been handed over to the last-mile delivery company.
It’s usually prevalent for smaller-sized packages where they can be bundled together along with bigger ones or fall in the conveyor units.
In that case, such companies try to retrieve such packages before they can agree that they lost those packages.
For such items, you will have to file a dispute for a refund on the basis of non-delivery within the provided number of days. We elaborated more on that below.
What Should I Do When My Package Is Stuck On “Your Package Has Been Delivered To The Last Mile Carrier?”
Use Third-party Tracking Sites To Re-track Your Package
It’s crucial for you to note that AliExpress tracking rarely updates whenever they hand over to last-mile delivery companies until the package gets delivered.
Now, to get finer details about who was given your package, we recommend using free Third-party tracking sites such as 17Track and Parcelsapp and you will get better details about your package.
After knowing who received your package, you can then paste the tracking number on the provided prompt and you will have a better idea of when the package will be delivered to you.
File A Dispute For Non-delivery Where Applicable
For this to happen, 60 to 90 days depending on your country should have passed.
Now, go to “Order details” and the time when AliExpress claims to have automatically confirmed your delivery.
From there, file a dispute asking for a refund based on non-delivery if the provided days have passed without you seeing your item.
If they ask for evidence that you didn’t receive your package, you can show them a screenshot of the AliExpress tracking page showing the status stuck on “Your package has been delivered to the last mile carrier.”
